I have been a constant juicer for over two years now. I juice 2-4 times a day. It got me through a very strong chemo cocktail without many complications. I was very tired, but still had enough energy to play and chase my kids around. I believe it is part of the reason I am in remission today. I gave my body the opportunity to start healing itself. Most of my doctors and oncologist don't believe in it the way I do, I find that most have the same textbook answer for it, but I believe in the research. I am not sure if it is going to heal me totally, but I know that it makes me feel better, physically and mentally. Why wouldn't I want to feed my body something that made me feel better everyday is my philosophy.
I can drink any juice I make, and I will admit, I have a habit of making some that doesn't look that appetizing!!! I have my entire family drinking it, except my daughter. She wouldn't touch it, but my son (now 3yrs. old) loves it. and will drink any combination.
1/2 Cucumber (skin on if organic or no wax on the skin)
1 Orange (peeled) the oils in the peel will make juice bitter
A little piece of ginger
This makes about 30 oz. of juice. The kids drink about 5 oz. each and my husband and I the rest. This is a great mild juice to start every morning.
Did you know that by drinking your fresh juice the vitamins and nutrients are absorbed in your body within about 10 minutes instead of 2-8 hours?
In this juice, apples have phenols and flavonoids that can inhibit the deadliest types of breast cancer.
Oranges are a super source of antioxidants and vitamin C.
Carrots are a rich source of beta-carotene and tretinol, both forms of Vitamin A. They not only help your eyes, but are also well known defensive weapons again cancer, especially breast and lung. It is also a natural diuretic to remove excess fluids and helps the body resist infection.
Last, but not least, cucumbers are high in antioxidants and vitamin C. They are good for our skin, hair, weight loss and they help balance out the sugars from the carrots, apples and oranges.
I juice many more veggies throughout the day and for different reasons. Stay tuned for those. I think this juice will get anyone started on a healthy breakfast juice, even my 6 year old daughter!
